Lululemon Atlanta Warehouse sale

This morning I got up at 4 a.m. to go to the Lululemon warehouse sale. I am officially crazy!

Line at 6:20 a.m.
Line at 7:40

I went early in part to avoid awful Atlanta traffic—it takes 75 minutes to 2 hours to get to Atlanta from my house so I left good and early. I got in line at the sale at 6:20 a.m. and sat down. There were over 100 people already in line. And it just kept getting worse. Probably 500 people in line by 8 a.m.

I went in with the first wave. And just started grabbing things I wanted to try.

What I wanted to get:
• Bag
• Swim
• Hat
• work clothes
• sweater or coats

I pulled a lot of sweaters and long sleeve shirts. I grabbed some swim. Virtually no yoga pants. I grabbed some trousers. And when my arms got too heavy I hit the dressing rooms.

I was not prepared for the communal fitting room. It was like a high school locker room all over again. People just changing, no stalls. Women were trying on shirts without bras. (Who doesn't wear a bra when going to try on clothes?!) I was surprised with some of the flabby bodies. There were girls hogging the mirrors. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I did let a lot of pieces go when in the fitting room.

Pro tip: Bring a giant tote bag to put your finds in. Everything is on hangers, so find the hanger bins, ditch the hangers and put your clothes in the bag. You can't bring hangers in to the fitting room or to the cash wrap to check out.

What was in the sale?
A LOT of stuff I recognized from last year's online wearhouse sale. A lot of items from WMTM over the last year. A few foreign pieces, but not much. I'd seen 90% or more of the pieces before.

I spent more than an hour looking around and double checking. I'd say it took me 90 minutes to shop. And most of that was deciding what to keep. (Go to the walls and corners and dump your stuff in a pile and decide what to keep or not.) I did this several times.

In the end, I spent way too much money. Don't tell my husband. I spent $100 more than I thought.

Mantra tote bag. (Total steal. Lucked out on this one.)

Tracker shorts in clear mint. (got these on second pass)

Black casual shorts.
Hot pink zip up. Maybe a raspberry define.

Black rain jacket. I love the striped details on the cuffs. This says size 5.
Wonder what country it's from. I've already worn. Love it!

Black half zip. From earlier this year. Forgot it's name.

2 swim tops: hot pink and a black and white reversible top that matches bottoms
I got last year. Shown with purple towel and bag from the sale.

Tweed sweater. No one else will have this!

Body suit. I was hoping it was for paddle boarding but I think it's casual wear.
Also they over charged me $20 on this one :(
Polka dot trousers

black trousers.

My favorites. Tote bag, shorts, rain jacket.

What I didn't get
• No dresses or skirts for me. They only had that ill fitting dress from last year's warehouse sale and one skirt from current WMTM
• Socks and accessories. I was underwhelmed with the sock, hat and scarf selection.
• Crops and leggings. I just wasn't feeling it.
• I also didn't want to spend $29 on tanks. Get to $19 and we'll talk.
• I tried on two dressy shirts for work, but they didn't fit right and really were too expensive for what they were.
• I was disappointed by the men's stuff. There were two short sleeve shirts in large. Lots of swim and sweaters, but no boxers so my husband didn't get anything :( And I didn't stock up on Christmas gifts either. I wasn't excited about the accessories.

What I didn't get that I'm still thinking about
• Quick change vest
• Scuba in purple
• Scuba in grey
• Run Times legging in stardust

I was out of the sale by 10 a.m. I went home.

I'm kind of hoping for price drops Sunday, because there were things I'd like for cheaper prices. I'd say the prices weren't THAT great. It was nice to have THAT much Lululemon to choose from and to be able to try it on.

Should you go? If you're in Atlanta yes. And I went by myself and was 100% fine. The line was long but bearable. The sale was A LOT but no one was cut throat. No one was even rude. I was never overwhelmed. It was loud, but totally fine.

Workout Variety

Clockwise from top right: TRX at Aerofit, cardio at Aerofit, acro yoga and tumbling at Bishop Park.

My usual workout routine is just going to Aerofit. I do some cardio. I do TRX. I like to mix it up.

To add some variety, I've been going to Wednesday night tumbling. This summer and added in the occasional Sunday night acro yoga. I signed up for Monday night aerial trapeze classes starting this week. There's also Tuesday night tumbling in Oconee that I want to try. And when I can afford it, I want to try Leap, the flying trapeze. And that's a lot. And probably how I hurt my knee to begin with—overuse.

So, if you need me, I'll be at a gym….somewhere…..hopefully not being bored.

Exercising while tired/ Rolling my ankle (again!)

I can't tell if it's swollen. Maybe?

There's this fine line between pushing through fatigue for a better workout to working out tired and getting hurt. I don't know where this line is. I try to listen to my body and sometimes I know and sometimes I don't.

When I tore a ligament in October, I was doing a second hour of working out. I was trying something new and crazy and I was tired. Really tired and not paying attention. Looking back, I shouldn't have done that second hour.

Last night, I did an hour of circuit training and then was really tired at the beginning of cardio, my second class. I had no energy. I had a stitch in my abs. I just wanted to go home. But I was at the gym. And I felt like I was more tired than I should be.

We were playing four square and I was running over to another square and I rolled my ankle. It twisted too much to the side and my foot rolled under. I fell. I knew the feeling.

"Are you okay," a friend asks.

"I'm out," I said and stood up, leaving them with three people for a four-person game. "I think I rolled it," I said and hobbled off the trampoline. My ankle is tingling. Not a good sign. It's not a stabbing pain, but it lets me know something is wrong.

I have one of those ankles that occasionally rolls. Especially if I'm wearing too high heels. It will roll out of place. I'll be off kilter for a few steps and that's it. But this roll was somewhere between that roll and October's sprain.

I walk around the gym testing my ankle. I can walk. It's stiff, but not impossible. I elevate my ankle and ice it for about 10 minutes. I'm too anxious to sit still much longer. It doesn't hurt like last time, but there is pain and it's not in my head. I do some of the ankle stretches from last time. None of them hurt. Fingers crossed it's not bad.

I was tired and not paying attention to body position. And I was just thinking about how I haven't been doing my physical therapy. I should do more toe raises and keep meaning to run once a week or so.

But I really was tired. I didn't realize it until afterwards.  I usually workout 5-7 hours a week with two days off. But this week:

Sunday: 90 minutes of acro yoga.
Monday: 60 minutes circuits, 60 minutes cardio.
Tuesday: 90 minutes climbing
Wednesday: 60 minutes cardio, 90 minutes tumbling
Thursday: 60 minutes circuits + another class.

Adding acro yoga  into my mix is something I need to start considering and then adding that one cardio class made more of an impact that I realized. I'd already done 8.5 hours before I started the class.

This morning I woke up and the ankle was not purple and puffy. It's a little stiff and sore. Flexing it and moving it to the right are both a tad tender.  It tried to roll again when I was walking the dog in flip-flops. I need to be wearing shoes.

I am wearing a compression sock, icing it, keeping it elevated, doing my stretches and hoping that in the next week it's back to normal.

If not, there's always spin class, abs and wall sits.

Acro-yoga

Me getting out of crown pose.
Until a few weeks ago, I didn't know there was such a thing as acro yoga. Then a few new people came to my tumbling class and they were all very impressive: doing back rolls on the first try, rolling up to a handstand even, getting the back kick overs, front walk overs. They were all strong and flexible and I was curious where they worked out that they could effortlessly do these gymnastics exercises the first time. After class, we were stretching and they started doing tricks. I couldn't look away. This tiny girl was balancing on a guy's feet. A very strong greying women, took one of the instructors up on here feet and showed her a trick. Then they invited everyone to acro yoga Sunday at their studio.

I felt like I needed to know more. I wanted to go. I LOVE learning new tricks. But I could potentially be horrible at this, so I needed to bring a friend. But I couldn't find anyone that Sunday—and it was a holiday. So I filed it away under things to eventually try.

Well, two girls from acro yoga came to Aerofit today. So I had to try a move. So I sat on Julie's feet.  It was both easy and slightly terrifying. I just wanted to get down. And try a harder move all at once.

I'm supposed to go to acro yoga with two friends from Aerofit Sunday night at Rubber Soul yoga studio. We'll see how it goes.

(*Also, Julie is such a good teacher. Love her. She's almost talked me in to trying Leap Flying Trapeze where she works. Now, I just need to save up the money for the $45 class.)
